Whose side are they on?

I realize that people of a left leaning persuasion often take great offense when their patriotism is questioned but a recent story provides yet another example of how they practically invite such questions.

Legislation meant to strengthen U.S. anti-propaganda laws recently passed the house and included a prohibition on "any form of communication in support of national objectives designed to influence the opinions, emotions, attitudes or behavior of the people of the United States in order to benefit the sponsor, either directly or indirectly."

So, we're not supposed to promote things that are favorable to us?  Why don’t we just cut out the intermediaries and publish the bad guys’ propaganda for them.  Oh wait.   Our media outlets already do that.  Maybe the legislation should just direct the brass at the Pentagon to stand in front of the cameras and talk about how the field commanders stink and how the war is lost.  Oh wait.  Our lefty politicians already do that.

It’s enough to make you wonder whether the real goal of the legislation is just to prohibit “any form of…support of national objectives”.  It sure seems like it sometimes.
