I missed an interesting detail in the previous discussion of the Left’s version of the Geneva Convention. Pres. Obama’s executive order on interrogations contains a big loophole. It creates a task force whose purpose is:
to study and evaluate whether the interrogation practices and techniques in Army Field Manual 2 22.3, when employed by departments or agencies outside the military, provide an appropriate means of acquiring the intelligence necessary to protect the Nation, and, if warranted, to recommend any additional or different guidance for other departments or agencies;
So, let me get this right. The great Obama (pause in a moment of quiet reflection at the sound of the Great One’s name), deliverer of the nation from the dark, lawless years of George Bush, has announced triumphantly to a weary world that we, the U.S., shall now treat terrorist detainees with the utmost gentleness….only he and the media fail to mention the fine print. A task force of his creation has the power to say “Oh wait, never mind. We need to get a little rough with these guys.”
How, exactly, is that “Change”?
