They Don’t Get It

Here is a great example of the arrogance of the left.

It was published in the Philadelphia Inquirer and found online here.

For one thing, they don’t get the idea that we don’t torture.  For all the bluster we hear from them the fact is that what we’re debating is the grey area below torture.  The left, of course, thinks that there is no difference between stress positions and putting someone on the rack.  This cartoon, I think, really is indicative of what the left believes we do - dungeon and implements included.

Why is it that they don’t discuss the real torture dungeons, such as the ones run by Al Qaeda in Iraq?  Here is the Al Qaeda torture manual, complete with illustrations (be warned).  The methods include such things as drilling hands, severing limbs, eye removal and blowtorching.  Note, if you would, the interesting resemblance between the actual torture implements from an Al Qaeda dungeon and the implements in the Tony Auth cartoon.  The difference, not that you’ll ever hear this in the media, is that Al Qaeda’s torture devices are real but Tony Auth’s are the figments of the left’s imagination.  You’ll have to forgive me if I don’t get worked up over “culturally insensitive interrogations” when I know what Al Qaeda does not its victims.

The left desperately wants to believe that The Great Obama is going to deliver them from the dark ages.  But they are so blinded by ideology and the Obamessiah that they can’t bring themselves to even report on the huge loophole in Obama’s new executive order.  That would be the loophole where Obama says we reserve the right to do whatever we want anyway.  Maybe the layoffs in the torture department aren’t finalized just yet.

Furthermore, the left just refuses to believe that what they are doing has serious consequences.  Do they not think obsessive slandering of the U.S. by Americans has an impact on how the world sees us?  When our own media is telling the world how immoral and corrupt we and our foreign policy are, does that not influence people?
