I will never understand the left’s belief that the UN is this hallowed place, gifted with special legitimacy in the world. It doesn’t represent the people of the word in any way. It represents the governments of the world, regardless of how repressive and repulsive they are.
I’d like to hear the UN lovers comment on this statement made at the UN Human Rights Council recently.
The Egyptian minister for legal and parliamentary councils, Mufid Shehab, said it was paramount that “freedom of expression should not lead to abuse of religions and religious standpoints…Societies should be obliged to punish acts of free expression when they damage the rights of others…Opinions cannot be expressed freely if this affects…religious sensibilities.”
Geert Wilders knows a few things about this.
